Ballistics Technician II (WF#9105)

Element U.S. Space & Defense is a leader in testing innovation, partnering with NASA and the U.S. Department of Defense. The Ballistics Technician II will perform tests and measurement tasks for the ballistics department, including test setup, data processing, and lab maintenance.

Responsibilities

Test Setup - Read specifications from technical documents (Test Standards, Customer SOWs, and Test Plans/Procedures), identify/prepare test equipment
Perform Testing - Monitor tests per specifications, interact with customers if needed, troubleshoot, and document all pertinent data
Data Processing - After test completion, verify, review and document all pertinent data. Finalize data and send to the Program Manager
Lab Maintenance / Post-Test Breakdown - Physically remove test items. Maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, & organizing supplies
Other - Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Under general supervision; completes intermediate technical and mechanical procedures, regularly interacts with clients, troubleshoots and reworks standard tests. Intermediate interpretation and analysis of test results
Comprehensive knowledge of ballistics & mechanical principles, working knowledge of basic safety practices
Able to use all standard Ballistics equipment; able to accurately capture necessary data; able to understand AC/DC circuits
Basic MS Office skills
HS Diploma or GED; AA or AS OR trade school for ballistics testing certificate OR military ballistics training strongly preferred
2+ Years of experience
