KLM Careers is seeking a Tool Room Technician for a 12-month contract-to-hire role. The primary responsibility of this position is to interact with the Crew Supervisor and Manufacturing Specialists to provide tooling and support for production processes, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

Operation of the Makino Milling Machines and other tool room equipment as trained, (i.e. Wheelabrator, manual mill and grinders) Tooling preparations i.e. breakdown, cleaning and building of tooling to be machined

Measure step heights on punches and log data into the tool room step list

Maintain punch cut records, compacting tool sign-out sheets and dispense to oven sheets

Receive tooling in from vendors; perform inspection of product related tooling as needed

One or more Tooling specialist assigned to write tool path programs for the Makino mills

Basic operation of computer used to transfer programs to the Makino mills

Safety, work in a safe manner

Assist with tooling inventory as needed

One or more Tooling Specialist assigned to support training

Perform daily / monthly operator PMs

Assure production readiness of Tool and Die

In addition to the above responsibilities, this position is responsible for other tasks as assigned
