Responsibilities

Foster student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement. Employ learning experiences that integrate multiple delivery methodologies and instructional technologies to maximize student success, such as hybrid, in-person, virtual, and on-line course delivery

Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students be successful. Use data to measure quality outcomes related to course success and learning, and implement improvement strategies based on the evidence

Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and equipment security, and ensure opportunities for student/engagement evaluation

Support the college by engaging with the department, as well as staying current with internal and external changes and initiatives

Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners. Proactively promote the College and our programs

Serve as an advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services staff to retain students, close achievement gaps, and help all students be successful

Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends, current occupational practices and teaching through professional development activities, and current employment in the field. Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation

Develop curriculum and instructional materials that are competency-based, current, consistent with employer expectations, and aligned with the college policy on the level of required documentation

Required

Completion of a Nail Technician program focused on Wisconsin state licensure

Minimum of at least 4,000 hours in the field within the last five years

A current Wisconsin Nail Technician license is required

Current knowledge of nail techniques as well as equipment and sanitation requirements

Knowledge of the latest trends

Knowledge of current licensing requirements and current Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Codes relating to the practice of Nail Technician

Understand the role of the Nail Technicians as part of the salon team

Qualified per FVTC requirements at time of, and throughout employment as an instructor

Must also meet and maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements, Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS), and/or other job-specific licensing standards

Proficiency utilizing a learning management system

Strong verbal communication skills

Adapt quickly to changing demands, assignments, and circumstances to meet student needs

Communicate effectively and professionally with various audiences

Engage in continuous improvement in the quality of instruction by embracing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods
