Refrigeration Technician Lead
Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a Refrigeration Technician Lead to provide leadership and guidance to refrigeration maintenance staff. The role involves monitoring the ammonia refrigeration system, installing and repairing refrigerating systems, and training team members.

Responsibilities
Assign daily jobs and work orders, detailing any requirements for the day and delegating/participating to successfully accomplish the daily tasks
Ensure maintenance staff has a good understanding of work practices and procedures; train and develop maintenance staff
Assist the supervisor to ensure that all work orders are completed in a timely manner, while maintaining high quality standards
Maintain and perform preventative maintenance activities on ammonia refrigeration systems
Complete accurate and timely documentation of maintenance records (MUPONE and APSM)
Observe and test system operation, using gauges, and instruments
Dismantle, assemble, and install refrigeration equipment
Support the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) purchasing and inventory management functions including all repair and maintenance parts and supplies
Anticipate parts requirements for the tasks, follow proper purchasing procedures, and acquire parts ahead of anticipated task performance
Assist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime
Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production
Ensure all repairs are documented. Complete all paperwork clearly, legibly, and accurately with required information. Document all required information in accordance with standard operations procedures
Stay up to date on new products, equipment, technology and techniques
Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, identify opportunities to improve processes
Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Monitor activities to ensure the overall system functionality for the facility's ammonia refrigeration system
Install and repair industrial and commercial refrigerating systems according to blueprints and engineering specifications
Demonstrate mastery of all job functions in the maintenance area/department
Train and mentor team members
