The Monitor Technician is responsible for monitoring and interpreting patient heart rhythms, performing EKGs, and communicating any changes in patient conditions to healthcare providers.

Responsibilities
Monitors patient heart rhythms
Interprets heart rhythms and documents tracings per unit guidelines
Communicates all changes in heart rhythms and/or capnography to the provider
Cleans and tracks all telemetry devices
Cleans and tracks all vocera devices
Ensures accommodation codes are up to date
Performs 12-lead EKGs as ordered
Assists with telemetry monitor positioning as needed
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent is required
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
Basic computer knowledge and the ability to document accurately and timely
Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a varied patient population and the health care team
Effectively communicates with all team members, physicians, ancillary staff and all customers
Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English
