The Mental Health Tech creates a safe environment for residents, saves lives when necessary, provides hope, empowers residents, and teaches new tools for coping to residents
The Mental Health Aide provides direct resident care under the supervision of a Shift Supervisor
Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, education groups and activities of daily living
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must complete and maintain competency training in CPR, HWC and Verbal De-Escalation – aggression management, crisis intervention and restraint training
Preferred
One-year experience working with a psychiatric resident population preferred
Prefer candidates who possess knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors
