The Electrical Technician will work on the electrical components of fire truck chassis, installing and routing wires, and ensuring the longevity of the systems through corrosion prevention and proper installation of harnesses.

Responsibilities

Works on the electrical components of the backend, front, and sides of the fire truck chassis

Installs engine, dash, and body harnesses according to the specifications

Installs and routes wires/cables for the installation of lights, display, switches, and heat exchange

Applies corrosion preventative and pressure protection to ensure longevity

Performs and completes tasks according to the spec book

Completes engine heat exchange unit installation

Installs foot switches, light bars, antennas, and programs then accordingly

Utilizes Alison and other programs to tune engine, lights, and transmission to specifications

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the company and our members

Required

High school diploma/GED required

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals

Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields

Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment

Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book

Strong mechanical and technical aptitude

Ability to use basic hand tools and tape measure

Preferred

Knowledge of low voltage wiring is preferred
