Responsibilities
Provides a variety of specialized services that require interaction with patients, visitors and other members of the patient care team
Greets and escorts patients from waiting area to treatment rooms and performs required medical testing (i.e. vital signs, obtain urine specimens, height/weight, etc.) as directed by either physician, RN/LPN or pre-designated protocol
May prepare and collect charge tickets
Answer and document patient phone calls regarding medical questions, test results and medication while in constant contact with attending physician, RN/LPN
Performs a variety of duties requiring use of independent judgment and decision making skills within well established parameters
Ensures patient rooms and instruments are clean and stocked with required supplies
Orders and maintains clinic supplies
Performs pre-load responsibilities based on clinic need
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Attend all required course work assigned by management
Possess basic knowledge of medical terminology
Advanced knowledge of PC applications, software, and database management
Be able to perform math & bookkeeping skills
Possess exceptional telephone & customer service skills
Be knowledgeable of English grammar & punctuation
Current CPR certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment
Must be self-directed / self-motivated
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
Must be able to perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
Accept responsibility for the direction, control and planning of one's own work
Work independently
Recognize the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality
Convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain, physical or emotional distress and/or grief
