Responsibilities
Monitor, troubleshoot, and diagnose network outages and performance issues
Lead incident response and root cause analysis for major network events
Provide mentoring and technical oversight to junior NOC staff
Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and internal federal stakeholders to resolve networking issues
Allocate resources effectively to ensure 24/7 operational support for the Census IOC
Fulfill on-call responsibilities to ensure continuity of critical services
Qualification
Required
At least 5+ years of experience supporting and administering network infrastructure, preferably in a federal environment
U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Public Trust Clearance
Demonstrated expertise in Incident Management: Detecting, diagnosing, and resolving network incidents
Demonstrated expertise in Routing & Switching Protocols: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VLANs
Demonstrated expertise in VPN Technologies: Policy- and route-based VPNs
Demonstrated expertise in Load Balancers: F5 BIG-IP, NGINX, Apache
Demonstrated expertise in Monitoring & Alerting Tools: SolarWinds, DataDog, ExtraHop
Demonstrated expertise in Firewalls: Cisco ASA/FTD, Palo Alto Networks
Preferred
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA) or F5 BIG-IP certification
Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or Engineer (PCNSE)
