Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during medical examinations and surgical procedures
Perform routine laboratory tests, including drawing blood and collecting other samples
Monitor and record vital signs and patient progress throughout treatment
Provide daily care and comfort to hospitalized animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising
Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments and treatment areas
Educate pet owners on animal care, behavior, and post-treatment instructions
Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper storage of medications
Support animal welfare initiatives and ensure compliance with safety and health regulations

Required

Demonstrated experience in animal care and handling within a clinical or hospital setting

Preferred

Associate degree or certification in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program
Valid Veterinary Technician License or certification as required by state regulations
Experience working in a busy veterinary hospital or animal care facility
Knowledge of advanced veterinary medical equipment and diagnostic tools
Familiarity with electronic medical records and practice management software
Additional training or certification in animal behavior or welfare
Strong communication skills for client education and team collaboration
