Gowan Company is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support production and quality control. The role involves conducting analyses and physical tests on samples, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, and maintaining laboratory equipment and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with other lab personnel to complete tasks accurately and on time

Perform analyses and physical tests on in-process, finished, cleanout, and check samples

Ensure samples are taken and retains are prepared according to customer requirements

Release products that meet testing and customer specifications

Follow procedures for disposing of laboratory waste

Report production unit status in the shift log at the end of each shift

Calibrate production unit scales at least once per shift

Conduct instrument qualifications, clean-outs, and special analyses as needed

Perform water treatment plant duties as instructed

Prepare reagent standards, such as 342 water

Calibrate lab equipment as assigned

Maintain and organize sample retain lockers

Perform laboratory housekeeping duties

Monitor inventory of consumables and stock work areas

Adhere to safety rules and perform tasks responsibly

Perform other tasks as assigned

Required

Associate's degree in chemistry or a related technical field, or a high school diploma with 2 years of relevant work experience

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Good communication and teamwork skills

Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols

Time management and organizational skills

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
