Responsibilities
Supervise and mentor veterinary technicians and assistants, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care
Provide hands-on technical support in exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites, with a focus on exotic species
Oversee training and continued education for staff on exotic animal handling, diagnostics, and treatment protocols
Manage technician scheduling, performance evaluations, and assist with hiring decisions
Collaborate with veterinarians and leadership to implement hospital protocols
Maintain inventory, medical equipment, and controlled substance logs in accordance with state and federal regulations
Support client education and communication, particularly regarding the care and husbandry of exotic pets
Qualification
Required
Active CVT license in Florida
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, including at least 1 year with exotic animals
Proficiency in anesthesia, radiology, laboratory procedures, and surgical prep/monitoring
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends or holidays as needed
Preferred
Prior supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred
Experience with a high-volume or specialty practice
Fear-Free certification and/or exotics-specific CE credits
Bilingual Spanish/English Preferred
