Health Care Technician I (J Iverson Riddle Developmental Center)
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest agencies in the state, responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of North Carolinians. The Health Care Technician I position involves providing direct care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting with basic care and promoting independent functioning in daily living activities.

Responsibilities
Provide direct care services to individuals with intellectual / developmental disabilities
Assist with basic care and training activities
Carry out goaled programs to encourage independent functioning in all aspects of daily living
Qualification
Required
Must be in good standing with the NC Health Care Personnel Registry
Must successfully complete training through the Staff Development department which includes NCI (North Carolina Intervention), CPR, Body Mechanics and lifting
High school or General Educational Development diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred
Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and/or in writing and/or to follow instruction
Demonstrated ability to learn techniques for carrying out program goals
Ability to work with individuals who have multiple disabilities
