Responsibilities

Support doctors in the veterinary clinic
Perform proper animal handling and restraint
Monitor anesthesia and surgical procedures
Place IV catheters and urinary catheters
Apply casts, bandages, and splints
Perform dental procedures including scaling, polishing, and extractions
Conduct laboratory skills including cytology setup and interpretation
Utilize diagnostic tools including digital radiology and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
Assist with pre-operative and post-operative care
Execute all other duties of a Registered Veterinary Technician as allowable by law

Required

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire
3 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant
Knowledge of industry tools and equipment, experience with Cornerstone software a plus
Passion for working with animals and their owners
Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
Dental Experience, scaling, polishing, extractions, suturing
Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation; Idexx laboratory equipment
Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
And all other duties of a Registered Veterinary Technician as allowable by law

Preferred

Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required
