Mid LevelThe Hinckley Company has been building and servicing America’s finest yachts since 1928, and they are seeking an Experienced Marine Outboard Mechanic/Technician for their Portsmouth, RI location. The role requires a thorough knowledge of various outboard motors, troubleshooting, repair, and the ability to work directly with customers, as well as maintaining and cleaning equipment as needed.

Responsibilities
Proficient in various outboard engines such as Mercury, Honda, Evinrude, Suzuki and Yamaha
Experience in all areas of sterndrive and outboard repair and maintenance
Experience in electrical diagnosis
Willingness to work with others
Some travel within the local area
Clean and maintain all equipment as required
Troubleshoot problems with all equipment as it arises
Will work with other mechanical systems within mechanical shop as needed
Ability to work any assigned shift and ability to work assigned overtime
Willing and able to educate themselves with OEM technical training/requirements
Ability and willingness to “flex” to any position in the department to assist with team goals
Qualification
Required
Thorough knowledge of various outboard motors, troubleshooting, repair, stern drives and outdrives
Ability to interpret job specifications, instruction manuals, and manufacturer's handbooks
Ability to work with customers directly
Working knowledge of boats electrical and mechanical systems
Installing new outboard engines with controls and accessories
Proficient in various outboard engines such as Mercury, Honda, Evinrude, Suzuki and Yamaha
Experience in all areas of sterndrive and outboard repair and maintenance
Experience in electrical diagnosis
Willingness to work with others
Some travel within the local area
Clean and maintain all equipment as required

Marine Technical school graduate
Must provide own tools
Preferred
Engine specific certifications highly preferred
Mercury Certification a plus!
Yamaha Certification a plus!
