Responsibilities
Supports physicians in both surgical and non-surgical orthopedic procedures
Providing direct and indirect patient care
Assists with fracture reductions
Hardware removals
Traction applications
Dressing changes
Fitting and education of patients on orthopedic braces and devices
Apply and remove immobilization devices
Assist with surgery and procedure scheduling
Ensure that all pre-surgical requirements such as testing, prior authorizations, and coordination are completed accurately
Attendance at staff meetings
Commitment to ongoing education to maintain clinical competency and contribute to team success
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
High school diploma or GED required
Current BLS certification required
Preferred
Prior experience in hospital, sports medicine, or orthopedic clinic settings preferred
Degree in Athletic Training preferred
