Upholstery Technician
Fat Fender Garage is dedicated to bringing vintage trucks to life through exceptional craftsmanship. They are seeking a skilled Upholstery Technician who is proficient in carpentry and upholstery fabrication, responsible for accurately measuring, cutting, and shaping materials, as well as mentoring less experienced technicians.

Responsibilities
Measure, cut, and shape materials accurately to project specifications
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations at all times
Contribute to a positive and productive work environment
Mentor and train lesser skilled technicians
Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Ability to layout a project (seats etc)
Cut AND SEW seats, panels, visors, etc
Demonstrates quality work with straight lines (please provide photos of your most recent work(s)
Keen knowledge of traditional pattern work and custom stitching (diamond tuck, tuck and roll, pleats, etc)
Highly experienced in trimming, measuring, patterning
Installing new custom interiors in classic trucks:
Tops (vinyl, canvas etc)
Headliners - ability to measure and cut properly
Seat covers
Carpet installation
Knows how to pattern
Layout automotive seats and trim
Matching fabric(s)
Sewing cushions, consoles and dash
Cutting fabric (once)
Qualification
Required
Must have minimum of 5+ years' experience as a Carpenter/Upholstery Fabricator
High school diploma or equivalent education required
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times
Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent problem-solving skills
Good communication skills
Good organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools
Commitment to producing high-quality work
Ability to layout a project (seats etc)
