Responsibilities

Diagnose Engine and Mechanical Issues: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems in diesel engines, including engine, transmission, hydraulic, and electrical systems

Trailer and Lift Gate Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and repair trailers and lift gates to ensure proper functionality and safety. This includes checking hydraulics, structural components, and electrical systems, as well as roll-up doors, operators, flooring, landing gear, and cross member repairs

Perform Repairs: Conduct repairs, such as replacing defective parts, repairing worn components, and installing new systems. Use of diagnostic equipment, such as multimeters and diagnostic software is required

Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of diesel engines, trailers, lift gates, and delivery pallet jacks, including checking oil, brakes, transmissions, and cooling systems

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repair work, parts inventory, and service reports. Provide accurate estimates of repair costs to assist in repair vs. replacement decisions. Ensure that all records meet DOT compliance regulations

Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Maintain a clean and organized workspace

Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with department management regarding repair timelines, issues found, and required repairs

Use Diagnostic Tools: Operate diagnostic tools and software to detect issues and faults in diesel engines, trailers, lift gates, related systems, and material handling equipment

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other technicians and maintenance management to achieve service goals and meet deadlines
