Responsibilities

Performs routine and specialized tests in clinical or pathology laboratory section in a timely manner according to UHS, Hospitals’, Infection Control, Laboratory and Departmental Policies and Procedures, NYSDOH, CDC Blood and Body Fluids policies and procedures

Priority is given to STAT testing and to tests that require immediate processing

Qualification

NYS Certified Clinical Laboratory TechnicianCertified HistotechnicianAssociate degree in clinical laboratory technologyClinical laboratory experienceHistotechnology

Required

Associate degree in clinical laboratory technology, Histotechnology, or equivalent program that would be eligible for licensure in NYS within a hospital laboratory setting

NYS Certified Clinical Laboratory Technician

Or within the Histology Department only: Registered as a Certified Histotechnician or Histotechnologist within NYS

Preferred

One (1) year of clinical laboratory experience
