Responsibilities
Services equipment and assists staff with repairs
Maintains inventory and assists with department recordkeeping and preventative maintenance schedule
Prepares and maintains ball fields, parks, and grounds for general public use and safety
Maintains clean, safe conditions in shop/service area
Serves as backup to maintenance staff
Assists with Election Equipment Delivery and Pickup
Performs light carpentry and special projects
Performs related work as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
General mechanical aptitude with ability to make routine repairs to equipment and rebuild small engines
Ability to set priorities and work independently
Good communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to work effectively with staff and suppliers
Computer literacy
Valid Commonwealth of Virginia Driver's License
Criminal Records Check, including fingerprinting
Twelve-month probationary period
Work beyond normal work schedule
Essential staff designation
Must wear uniform, including safety equipment
Pre-employment audiometric testing and hearing conservation and repeated in accordance to policy thereafter
Routine lifting of objects over 50 pounds
Ability to work from extension ladder
Must travel to project sites to perform essential functions
Preferred
Additional training in small engines and mechanics
