Linnaeus is seeking a Patient Care Attendant to join VCA Spring Branch Animal Hospital, a busy 7 doctor practice. The successful candidate will support Veterinarians and Technicians in providing exceptional care to hospitalized pets and maintaining a clean environment.

Responsibilities

Assisting doctors and technicians

Monitoring and care for pets in the treatment area. Demonstrate knowledge an effective execution of compassionate patient care, handling and medical responsibilities as appropriate for maintaining health and comfort of our hospitalized, sick and well patients

Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments

Prepare surgical packs

Assist with technician appointments

Communicate effectively with clients and other associates

Cleaning cages

Maintain a clean and sanitized environment for staff and clients

Assist with inventory and stocking

Follow standard hospital procedures including the ability to read, understand and follow proper healthcare documentation guidelines for basic medical records

Ability to sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb as well as manipulate up to 40 pounds
