Mechanical Exchange Technician I

Okuma America Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Exchange Technician I to evaluate and repair defective units while maintaining adequate inventory. The role involves inspecting incoming units, conducting failure analysis, and collaborating with other departments to ensure timely repairs and a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

Inspect and identify incoming units
Disassemble and failure analysis/diagnosis
Clean, inspect and prep units for repair
Assist technicians as required
Install and Remove units from the simulator
Shop floor/Inventory control
Maintain organized, clean and safe work area (5S)
Work collaboratively with other departments
Assist technicians as required

Required

High school diploma, vocational certificate or equivalent experience (1-3 yrs. mechanical experience)
Strong mechanical ability, average mathematical ability and basic electrical skills
Ability to interpret mechanical assembly and parts drawings
Proficient use of electrical and mechanical devices such as, precision measuring equipment, multimeters, etc
Strong attention to detail and capable of solving product technical problems
Must work well independently as well as on a team
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office

Preferred

Ability to operate forklift and crane
Basic operation of manual machine shop equipment (lathe, grinder etc.)
Machine maintenance or previous mechanical assembly/rebuilding experience
Experience with Bill of Material (BOM) research
