The role involves operating complex motorized equipment and performing various tasks related to grounds maintenance, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
Performs grounds maintenance including, but not limited to, grass cutting, pruning, planting, irrigation, fertilization, and trimming of trees and shrubbery
Operates manual and power tools such as non-propelled and self-propelled mowers, blowers, weedeaters, edgers, hedge trimmers, chain saw, etc
Performs servicing of two- and four-cycle engines (i.e. oil and filter changes, lubrication of equipment, replacing or repairing broken equipment, etc.) and lawn mowing, trimming, and edging equipment
Picks up trash, debris, and brush; loads debris onto trucks
Performs work in the construction or repair of sidewalks by making forms and mixing and pouring cement
Performs routine duties necessary to assure safety of employees and general public
Performs related work as required
Required to complete all written documentation related to job functions
Qualification
Required
Graduation from accredited high school or possession of an equivalency diploma unless exempt as provided under Article 25.9
Experience in general grounds maintenance
Valid driver's license
Must obtain an Ornamental and Turf Category License within 90 days after date of hire
Preferred
Certification of verifiable experience in small engine repair and maintenance is highly desirable but not mandatory
