Electrical (IACS) Technician - 2nd Shift

NTN Bearing Corporation is a highly automated Tier 1 supplier of wheel-bearing hubs for the automotive industry. The Electrical (IACS) Technician will assist in the safe production of quality products by troubleshooting and repairing PLC based electrical control systems for CNC machines, while also monitoring and modifying PLC programs.

Responsibilities

Understand and support company quality objectives

Trouble-shoot automated production machinery, identify root cause for trouble and repair as necessary

Diagnose and replace faulty electrical and electronic components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, positions, sensing devices, printed circuit boards and PLC’s

Safely connect power to machines and equipment, and control wires between machines and monitor equipment

Replace damaged sensors

Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings

Test motor insulation

Maintain interior and exterior lighting systems

Required

Associate Degree or Equivalent Experience and High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Working knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics

Ability to read and design electrical schematic drawings

Understand AC to DC power supply

Knowledge of PLC input/output module and function. Ability to read and understand Ladder Logic program

Basic knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)

Basic knowledge of Servo Control functions

Knowledge of electronic motors, including 3-phase, single phase, AC motors, and DC motors

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret multiple instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Knowledge of Electronic Device Application Software is required
