CSM Companies, Inc. is seeking a talented individual for the Installation Technician role in Chillicothe. This position involves installing specialized components and systems on new Class 8 trucks, requiring precise mechanical and electrical work, as well as light fabrication and welding tasks.

Responsibilities

Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards

Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified

Writes up on the repair order an accurate, clear, and detailed description of installations or inspections completed

Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures

Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management staff

Maintain a clean and safe work area

Install specialized equipment and modifications onto medium and heavy duty trucks according to customer specifications

Perform pre delivery inspections

Lay out new upfits for new customers

Obtains supervisor permission to complete diagnosed repairs and/or add additional repairs to a repair

Communicates with parts department personnel to obtain or order the parts necessary to repair vehicles

Performs road test on customer vehicles to assist in problem isolation or to verify repair procedure

Tracks and charges clocked hours to the proper corresponding Repair Order operation

Writes up on the repair order an accurate, clear, and detailed description of installations or inspections completed

Interacts with customers in a professional and positive manner

Assists other technicians with installation procedures as needed

Required

Formal technical training degree, certificate or diploma or equivalent work experience

Personal tool inventory to allow for the completion of job duties and assignments

Effective written and oral communication skills

Ability to read and interpret shop repair order forms, repair manuals, electrical schematics, and various other technical bulletins

Ability to use computer keyboard and Windows basics

Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop and lift/move up to 50lbs. on a regular basis and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds

Ability to work in an environment to include 8–12-hour days, overtime hours as needed with frequent exposure to weather conditions, vehicle and tool noise, and hazardous materials to include fuel, oil, grease, and cleaning solutions, dust from sanding and possible paint fumes

Actively looking for ways to identify customer needs. Then efficiently and effectively addressing those needs

Listening, speaking, and signaling so others can understand. Communicate in spoken English well enough to be understood by others

Working cooperatively in a professional demeanor to complete work assignments
