Boiler Service Technician

Responsibilities
Build strong customer relationships and confidence in HMS and our core products, while also building knowledge and understanding of new and existing customer needs and expectations
Perform technical level support/repairs, overhauls, general maintenance and start-ups of various mechanical commercial equipment such as Boilers, Water Heaters, Pumps, Humidifiers, Booster Systems, Variable Frequency Drive, etc
Diagnose and troubleshoot commercial Hydronic Plumbing equipment
Ensure customer satisfaction and confidence by efficiently and effectively servicing products and equipment on assigned projects
Must be able to plan ahead for jobs, ensuring you have the proper tools
Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products at customer's location
Provide onsite preventative maintenance, replacement parts, and modifications as needed or requested by customers
Proactively prevent future issues onsite by examining building layout, gathering materials and coordinating as needed
Ability to use power tools, computer, and smartphone
Strong computer, internet and communication skills needed
Keeping appropriate records by completing the necessary paperwork for each job and working with Service Coordinator to maintain accurate and updated files
Maintain project expenses through planned course of action
Maintain and inspects vehicles by checking vehicle condition, inventory needs, scheduling and completing repairs and routine maintenance service
Working knowledge of mechanical systems
Qualification
Required
Education/Experience – associate degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade School with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning
Minimum of Two (2) years related experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Operational knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software preferred
Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and short correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
Ability to understand data presented in a graphical format such as pie charts, bar graphs, etc
Ability to recognize problems and develop the most cost-effective solution
Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Must pass pre-hire requirements including background check, motor vehicle report, and drug screening
Must possess valid drivers' license
Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in service
Ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to use and maintain a variety of hand tools, wiring diagrams, piping schemes, engineering specifications and other equipment to diagnose and repair units
Maintain a high standard of mechanical installation practices
Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and manuals
Willingness to research and study OEM manuals before going on to a job site
Ability to meet deadlines and stay up to date on all aspects of core product maintenance, repair, start-ups and product certifications
Ability to troubleshoot efficiently and effectively
Build customer relationships while having a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills with a desire to exceed customer expectations
Well organized, self-motivated and able to work independently
Must also be able to interact effectively with others at all levels both within and outside the company
High ethical standards and the desire to maintain confidentiality
Good oral and written communication skills are essential
Comfortable with working in all types of conditions
Valid Driver License and clean driving record
Knowledge of basic electricity, electrical control systems and general knowledge of mechanical systems
Must keep up to date with all product certifications
Preferred

Boiler, water heater and/or pump repair/ service experience preferred
