Data Center Technician (Junior Role)

Responsibilities

Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, storage, and networking hardware

Perform regular data center walk-throughs to ensure environmental stability (temperature, power, cabling, etc.)

Respond to tickets and incidents related to hardware, cabling, and connectivity issues

Assist with racking, stacking, and cabling of new equipment

Monitor system alerts and escalate issues to senior technicians or engineers as needed

Maintain accurate inventory records of equipment and components

Follow safety, security, and compliance procedures within the data center

Participate in on-call rotation or after-hours support as needed

Qualification

CompTIA A+Network+Hardware installationTroubleshooting skillsTicketing systemsAttention to detailTeam-orientedCommunication skills

Required

High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or certifications in IT/Networking is a plus

Basic understanding of computer hardware, networking concepts, and operating systems

Ability to lift, rack, and move equipment (up to ~50 lbs)

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, if required

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures

Preferred

CompTIA A+, Network+, or related certification

Experience working with ticketing systems and/or monitoring tools

Previous internship, co-op, or hands-on lab experience in IT or data center environment
