Responsibilities
Prepares processes, embeds, cuts and stains tissue preparations of material derived from the human body to provide material to a pathologist for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease
Prepares immunohistochemical clinical laboratory examinations including antigen detection testing and related immunohistological procedures including quality control and validation studies
May assist in autopsy procedures or cytology preparation procedures as appropriate
Qualification
Required
ASCP certified or eligible as a hisotechnician or histotechnologist
Preferred
Associate in Science Degree in Histology
Bachelor Degree in clinical laboratory science, one of the specialty areas, or one of chemical or biological science
