Responsibilities
Conduct laboratory work and record, manage, and analyze experimental data
Operate and maintain field equipment, performing minor repairs as needed
Collaborate with staff, students, and other team members to ensure smooth research operations
Follow all safety protocols and compliance standards in field and lab settings
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the research and extension program
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work
A valid NC Driver's License and the ability to obtain an NC Driver's License within 60 days of hire
A valid Driver's License must be maintained throughout employment
Preferred
Experience in heavy field equipment usage, field work scheduling, and performing minor maintenance tasks
Background in soil science, agriculture, agronomy, or field crops
Experience mentoring or managing student employees in field or lab settings
Hands-on experience with extension or research programs
Ability to work independently and make scientifically informed decisions in field and lab environments
