Juvenile Hall Counselor - Extra Help
NEOGOV is seeking a Juvenile Hall Counselor for Napa County's Probation Department to supervise and provide care for youth detained in Juvenile Hall. The role involves assisting with counseling juveniles and supporting the operations of the facility.

Responsibilities
Supervise, care and custody of youth detained in Juvenile Hall
Assist with counseling juveniles that are referred to the Hall
Qualification
Required
Persons employed in this class must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Possession of a valid California Driver's License
Possession of, or ability to obtain within one year, valid first aid and CPR certificates
Equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college with major course work in psychology, sociology, criminology, social welfare or a closely related field
To qualify for the Juvenile Hall Counselor II classification, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities
One (1) year of experience as a Juvenile Hall Counselor
A bachelor's degree with a major in psychology, sociology, criminology, social welfare, or closely related field can substitute for up to six months of the required experience
Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e. active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County
