Assistant Professor of Cellular Biology
Whitworth University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Cellular Biology in the Biology Department. The successful candidate will teach general biology, cell physiology, and introductory genetics, while also engaging in advising and research activities.

Responsibilities
The standard full-time teaching load is usually 21 credits
Key teaching duties will include introductory biology, introductory genetics, and upper-division cell physiology, with the potential to teach neurobiology or immunology, depending on the applicant's expertise
In addition, the position requires involvement in advising, university service, maintaining an active research agenda, and engaging in departmental activities
Qualification
Required
Doctoral degree in cellular biology, neurobiology, immunology, or related field
A personal commitment to the Christian faith
The ability to communicate effectively in the language of instruction (English)
A commitment to the educational mission of Whitworth as a Christian liberal arts institution
Preferred
Teaching experience at the college level
Ability to teach upper division genetics, immunology or neurobiology
Ability to teach introductory statistical applications in the biological sciences, especially using R statistical programming language
