Responsibilities
Supervise the work of a moderate sized group of repair workers, helpers, and others engaged in the servicing, maintenance, and repair of automotive and other gasoline-operated equipment including trucks, passenger vehicles, and other construction equipment
Assign work and provide instructions relative to work orders and repair work
Inspect repair work in process and upon completion
Assign subordinates to maintain and repair units and parts in pumps involving tasks such as tightening pump rods, re-facing pump seats, fitting keys in pump impellers, grinding valves, and checking bearing adjustments in pump barrel
Ensure that required parts are available
Review records prepared by subordinates
Prepare requisitions for supplies, materials, and parts
Maintain records such as employee schedules, lubrication of automotive equipment, and duties performed and generates reports thereon
Perform tests on equipment before and after repairing to determine operating condition
Qualification
Required
High School graduation or GED with successful completion of coursework in shop and auto repair work
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in assembling, repairing, and maintaining light duty, heavy duty, or other automotive equipment
Preferred
Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity
