Responsibilities

Enforcing the National Electrical Code and local regulations governing the installation and operation of electrical systems and equipment

Qualification

Journeyman electrician certificateElectrical field experienceNational Electrical Code knowledgeBlueprint reading

Required

Graduation from a standard senior high school, or the successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test

Supplemented by two years of trade school or college coursework in the electrical field

A minimum of three years journeyman level experience in the electrical field

A combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements

Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence

Possession of a current master or journeyman electrician certificate issued by the State of Alabama or the City of Mobile
