Field Service Technician II - VA

They are seeking a Field Service Technician II to provide comprehensive service support for Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and associated peripherals, including troubleshooting, repair, and technical service at customer sites.

Responsibilities

Perform start-up services, preventative and remedial maintenance, field modifications, and testing of power quality products directly at customer sites
Provide technical support to internal and external customers, including third-party service organizations and end users, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and effectively
Inspect, test, and document failed products, components, and systems prior to their return to the factory, detailing defects and operational status
Schedule and provide on-call emergency technical support and field service, ensuring customer operations are always protected
Work with other MEPPI departments to identify product solutions and improve performance and protection for our customers
Identify, evaluate, and repair routine product failures; escalate non-routine issues as needed
Recommend service product offerings, such as battery upgrades, based on customer needs and long-term maintenance goals
Resolve malfunctions to a board level in UPS systems with minimal guidance
Maintain detailed service records and provide comprehensive documentation on repairs and inspections of UPS and energy storage equipment
Guide less experienced technicians on troubleshooting and system failures
Submit accurate expense reports in a timely manner, adhering to company policies

Required

Associate degree in Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field, with 4 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing technical, electrical, or electronic products—or equivalent education and experience
Intermediate knowledge of UPS products, services, and peripherals, with advanced proficiency in mechanical and electronic test equipment
Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities, with the capability to diagnose complex issues
OSHA-10 Construction and NFPA-70E certification
Advanced interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively communicate with customers, employees, and suppliers
Basic understanding of communication and networking protocols, and the ability to read and interpret detailed equipment schematics and facility one-line drawings
Advanced computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office products and MRP/ERP business systems
Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to rent vehicles as needed
