Income Maintenance Caseworker II - Family & Children's Medicaid Recertification Team

NEOGOV is seeking an Income Maintenance Caseworker II for the Family & Children's Medicaid Recertification Team. The primary purpose of this position is to process Family & Children’s Medicaid recertifications and reported changes accurately and in a timely manner for recipients of Nash County Department of Social Services.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for evaluating recipient’s continued eligibility for participation in the MAF (Medicaid for Families), MIC (Medicaid for Infants and Children), MPW (Medicaid for Pregnant Women), IAS and HSF (Foster Care and Adopted Children), BCCM (Breast and Cervical Cancer), FPP (Family Planning Program, ANB (Automatic Newborns), TMA (Transitional Medicaid – income disregarded when certain criteria are met) and all SSI eligible children (age 19 and under)
The caseworker must be very knowledgeable in Family & Children’s Medicaid and must have some knowledge of other Economic Benefits programs such as Adult Medicaid, Food & Nutrition, Energy, etc. so that they can better serve our citizens by referring them to other departments as/when needed
Attention to detail and accuracy is a must. The caseworker must be able to read and interpret Family & Children’s Medicaid policy, Terminal Messages, Dear County Director Letters, Job Aids and etc
All recertifications and reported changes must be processed timely in accordance with State policies, procedures and timelines
Caseworker must be energetic, enthusiastic and people-oriented
This caseworker will be expected to work in emergency shelters and/or perform related disaster tasks and perform other reasonable tasks requested by the Deputy Director or Director

Required

Strong computer and mathematical skills
Ability to read and interpret policy
Ability to communicate with clients and explain regulations and procedures
Ability to meet deadlines within established time frames
Knowledgeable in Family & Children's Medicaid
Some knowledge of other Economic Benefits programs such as Adult Medicaid, Food & Nutrition, Energy, etc
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently as well as ability to work together as a team
Ability to work in emergency shelters and/or perform related disaster tasks
Exactness and accuracy in interpreting and disseminating policy and/or other resources
Data entry keying must be accurate
Close visual attention is needed in every phase of the job
A tremendous volume of reading and interpretation is required as well as writing
Intense mental concentration must be maintained to avoid errors
Decision making on difficult cases
