Responsibilities

Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required to solve problems and make recommendations under minimal supervision
Provides guidance, training and direction to less seasoned employees
Applies non‑standard electrical, mechanical, developmental, electromechanical, optical and test technician duties in such areas as manufacturing, maintenance, quality, testing, engineering, where considerable judgment is required
Constructs, inspects, calibrates, adjusts, tests, documents and maintains equipment, components, devices and systems
Performs standard preventative maintenance operations on production equipment
Assists with set up and production stability as needed
Provides input to Supervisor/Manager/Engineer regarding Employee Relations issues
Troubleshoots electrical, test, mechanical, facilities or hydraulic systems, components, and equipment
Ensures tools and test equipment are properly calibrated and repaired according to standard operating procedures
Often works with high level of self-motivation from little or no documentation, instruction or guidance
May determine methods and procedures on new assignments
Make recommendations to Supervisor/Manager/Engineer on improving quality, efficiency, cost of company product(s), processes and/or productivity techniques
Requires analytical and interpretative capability, which applies an in-depth knowledge and thorough practical understanding of component/test level issues with comprehensive knowledge in applicable discipline
May apply non‑standard test techniques where normal procedures do not fulfill testing needs
Ensures all documentation is recorded properly and follows corporate standard operating procedures, when applicable
Performs requirement manufacturing preventative maintenance per indicated Job Plans for production equipment
Generates Work Orders as applicable
Assists with manufacturing set up issues due to instability constraints of equipment
Acts as process SME as applicable to ensure inventory is met
Writes and/or reviews complex technical reports, develops charts, graphs, schematics, and drawings to describe and illustrate machine, test, component characteristics
Has completed all appropriate safety and environmental hazard training
Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance
Maintain kanban inventory levels for tools and consumables for designated area
Responsible for on time distribution of all chemicals
Ensures all chemicals and hazardous wastes in the loading dock area are segregated and labeled in accordance with Site Procedure and regulatory requirements
Ensures timely pick up and inventory of all Hazardous Waste, Universal Waste and Biomedical Waste
Performs weekly inspections of hazardous waste areas as required by environmental regulations
Responsible for on time requests of Clean Harbors for Hazardous Waste pick up
Prepares Hazardous Waste for shipment and completes checklist for DOT and RCRA compliance of shipments
Tracks, maintains, inspects and provides to Safety/Environmental department inventory of Spill Kits in area
Ensures proper recycle of empty Hazardous Drums
Member of CERT (Chemical Emergency Response Team)
Attends regulatory required training as indicated by the EHS Department and Training Curriculum

Qualification

Required

High school diploma, equivalent skilled trades, apprenticeships or equivalent education
Requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience
