Responsibilities

Performs duties of a Sleep lab Technician and evaluates PSG and MSLT recordings. Generates computerized PSG report
Interprets raw data: score polysomnogram for sleep stages using standardized criteria, compute parameters to include sleep latency, sleep efficiency and percentage of sleep stages, analyze apneas and arousals(muscle and spontaneous)
Determine heart rate ranges for waking and sleeping stages. Identify and quantify abnormalities in cardiac activity and respiration. Identifies normal/abnormal patterns, artifacts and sleep/wake stages
Assist with marketing the sleep lab to the outside community and staff physicians
Provides information to the medical staff with regard to test capabilities and requirements in order to increase medical staff knowledge of polysomnographic testing. Provides in-service education to sleep lab staff
Perform all other related duties as assigned

Qualification

Registered Polysomnography certificationPolysomnography experienceVocational/technical training

Required

Vocational/technical training and a minimum of one year's job-related experience or equivalent is required
Registered Polysomnography technologist certification is also required
