Responsibilities
Prioritize safety at all times by following and promoting safe work practices
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on Komatsu heavy equipment in the field
Perform maintenance, inspections, and updates in alignment with service standards
Communicate with customers and internal teams to ensure effective service delivery and customer satisfaction.Maintain accurate service records and contribute to continuous improvement
Work safely and follow all KEC/Customer safety policies and procedures
Complete related paperwork and access databases require to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely
Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision
Ability to provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to the customer
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs
Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
Apply general failure analysis and procedures to determine proper diagnosis
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work
Must have a basic set of mechanics tools that meet minimum requirements as defined on Komatsu Equipment Company technician tool list
Certified to operate a forklift and/or manlift
Required to complete MSHA certification
May be required to complete a DOT physical
May be required to complete respirator certification
Preferred
Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent preferred
