The Area 14 Wildlife Property Technician will assist in managing and maintaining wildlife areas, supporting habitat improvement projects, and ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of public facilities.

Responsibilities

Tree and willow planting

Fence building and maintenance

General maintenance and cleaning of public facilities, including restrooms, vault toilets, campsites, picnic areas, and trails

Mowing and trimming operations

Operation of tractors and mowing equipment

Operation of forestry equipment

Operation of herbicide application equipment

Operates and performs routine maintenance on state-owned vehicles and equipment

Assures quality customer service and facility maintenance, repair, and cleanliness

May assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, and transporting materials and supplies

Maintains a working knowledge of and safely operates all relevant equipment and tools, including tractors, mowers, chainsaws,power saws, drills, air compressors, generators, spray equipment, etc

Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a current motor vehicle report

Willing to work outside during inclement weather

Must be able to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays

Possess strong interpersonal communication skills

Ability to work with little to no supervision

This position involves physical activities that require considerable arm and leg use and movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials

Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds repeatedly during the course of a single workday
