Responsibilities

Maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, designing and installing electrical equipment
Assisting with process improvements and providing support for operations
Improving predictive and preventive electrical maintenance, while reducing reactive situations
Must be capable of learning operational equipment process flow and understand how equipment interlocking works
Performing layout, installation, repair, programming, maintenance and replacement of electrical, PLC components, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and electronic circuits, such as controls, motors, transformers, switchboards, and instruments
Demonstrating ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, and equipment cut sheets as well as understand verbal instructions set forth
Running wire, cable, and conduit
Connecting power source and installing switch panels, junction boxes, control panels, etc
Repairing, maintaining and overhauling equipment, control panels, building structures and machinery
Diagnosing electrical problems and correcting by repairing, replacing or recommending other appropriate action
Ability to respond to call-outs on an as needed basis to keep operational equipment running
Adjusting, calibrating, aligning and modifying circuitry, components and equipment recording performance by using signal generator, ammeter, multimeter, voltmeter, or other appropriate electrical equipment
Performing various work of a mechanical nature
Requisitioning necessary parts and supplies within appropriate authority level or informing supervisor if items are above authority level
Applying electronic theory and principles, testing procedures and engineering math to design, build or modify equipment at any location
Demonstrating solid level of proficiency in computer operation and program applications
Attending and successfully completing all training necessary to maintain proper knowledge to perform the duties of this position (i.e., PLC training, VFD operation and set-up, vendor sponsored classes, etc.)
May be required to instruct or assist in the instruction or training of others
Assisting with special projects, as assigned
Performing project-related work as part of normal day-to-day activities in order to accomplish location goals and objectives
Providing technical assistance and support to plant problem-solving activities involving quality, production, environmental, maintenance, and/or change management issues
Assisting in analyzing equipment failures, investigating problems and offering solutions
Ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical components, electronic circuits in PLC and VFD controls in crushing, milling, packaging, and material handling equipment including blowers and fans; air compressors; air dryers; pumps; and rotary airlocks
Ability to read and interpret documents such as electrical and mechanical repair manuals, structural drawings, technical procedures, and safety manuals
Ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills involving plant electrical issues and effectively utilize computer applications
Demonstrating ability to parallel all rolls, make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products
Demonstrating ability to teach other maintenance classifications in all qualification requirements and proper maintenance procedures
Demonstrating ability to use all aspects of the maintenance SAP software program
Following up all work in order to ensure repairs and work are performed properly
Maximizing the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed
Completing all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines
Possessing strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Willingly working all necessary hours and shifts
Helping maintain good housekeeping in work areas
Complying with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping

Required

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent education and experience
Electrical and mechanical experience REQUIRED
Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters
Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate
Able to apply concepts of high school math
To apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations
The individual must have a working knowledge of the following: Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation, Product layouts and production specifications, Product quality specifications, Quality standards
May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other appropriate certification to work in certain areas or on certain equipment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud

Preferred

Apprenticeship or Associates degree is preferred
Two year Electrical Degree and two years Industrial Electrical Experience, OR five years of Industrial Electrical Experience without degree
Candidate PREFERRED who has prior work experience in the corrugated industry
