Groundwater Treatment System OM&M Technician

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) is an industry leader in environmental consulting and technical field services. They are seeking an Environmental Technician to support groundwater investigation and treatment sites, executing and supervising environmental monitoring and remediation activities.

Environmental Engineering

Responsibilities

Executes, supervises, and documents field aspects of environmental monitoring, site assessment, remediation, and construction activities, which includes, but is not limited to:
Applying mechanical knowledge and experience to troubleshoot and maintain equipment such as transfer pumps, flowmeters, filters, and other monitoring equipment
Using precision measuring equipment and various hand and power tools
Documenting and supervising various trade contractors (i.e. excavation, construction, carbon changeout services, waste disposal)
Performing general labor, plumbing repairs, and construction duties based on the project requirements
Working with groundwater wells, piping and electric well pumps
Completing groundwater sampling using bailer and low flow methods
Maintaining equipment calibration logs
Recording field data to the specific task performed at each site location
Submittal of field data via email using a GES-owned computer
Performing system sampling and transporting water samples to the laboratory as needed
Following GES engineering, construction, and O&M policies and procedures
Adhering to GES Health & Safety Standards in all field-related activities

Required

A High School diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's License
1-4+ years of related fieldwork experience
Mechanical aptitude is required
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to support project needs and be agreeable to outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Weekend availability is occasionally required, including after-hours or overnight system alarm responses
Some overnight travel needed on occasion
Must have a strong work ethic, be detail oriented, and a team player

Preferred

OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training will be provided if this certification is not yet earned
Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is a plus, although not required
