Senior Lab Technician

They are seeking a Senior Lab Technician who will be responsible for analyzing chemical substances to ensure quality and compliance, utilizing advanced scientific techniques, and contributing to product development and regulatory compliance.

Chemicals

Responsibilities

Perform chemical analysis using advanced analytical techniques such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), atomic absorption (AA), gel permeation chromatography (GPC), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), etc
Calibrate, maintain, and operate analytical instruments and equipment
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to analytical equipment
Ensure instruments are in proper working conditions and meet calibration standards
Analyze, recognize, and interpret experimental data in support of the larger Carpenter Technical and Sales teams
Disseminate research findings and technical knowledge to R&D stakeholders and relevant Business Units through reports and Monthly RTC Technical Meetings
Contribute to documentation of new analytical test methods in the form of Carpenter Work Instructions to be transferred to the Analytical Testing Group for implementation
Prioritize projects and method development efforts according to their urgency and current impact to the business

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent is required
5-8 years of experience in an analytical chemistry role is required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to details and organization skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
Ability to interact well with all levels of the organization and maintain strong relationships with team members, peers and internal customers
Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
Functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred

Associate's degree in a scientific field is preferred
Experience with GC-MS, atomic absorption, GPC, and HPLC preferred
Familiarity with laboratory information management system (LIMS) and data analysis software
