Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the 1st shift team in metal fabrication to meet daily production targets
Manage staffing, training, and development of team members; foster a culture of accountability, safety, and collaboration
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and production procedures
Monitor workflow, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and coordinate with maintenance to address equipment issues
Review production schedules and adjust resources to meet deadlines and customer requirements
Conduct regular performance evaluations, manage attendance, and participate in hiring and disciplinary processes in partnership with HR
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and OSHA standards
Ensure all products meet customer specifications and internal quality benchmarks
Provide timely and accurate production reports to leadership to support operational decision-making
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Purchasing, Shipping, and Sales to ensure seamless operations
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing supervision
Strong understanding of fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, 2D drawings, and 3D models
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and quality assurance practices
Effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
Strong communication skills and the ability to work across departments
Decisive problem-solver with the ability to quickly assess situations and implement solutions
Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet production and shipping deadlines
Proficient in using production tracking systems and reporting tools
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field preferred
OR 5+ years in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment, with 2+ years in a supervisory role
Experience with ERP systems and production scheduling tools
