Provides other general legal and administrative support and assistance consistent with the legal profession and responsibilities of the City Prosecutor’s Office
Performs all other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Graduation from a recognized school of law; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Considerable knowledge of the application of legal principles to individual cases or problems
Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations and city ordinances
Considerable knowledge of judicial procedures, rules of evidence, and the rules of criminal procedure
Considerable knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, and practices of legal research
Ability to understand and interpret constitutional provisions, statutes, administrative regulations, and precedents
Ability to analyze facts, evidence, and precedents and arrive at logical interpretations
Ability to set forth findings of facts and decisions in written form
Ability to effectively represent the City in municipal court
Ability to exercise negotiation skills, prepare legal documents and records; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and the legal profession
Bachelor's Degree
Must be a member of the Ohio Bar or be admitted to the Bar by the Supreme Court of the State of Ohio within six months of appointment

The City pays half of the full premium up to a maximum of $30 per month for dental.
The City pays 100% of the premium for term life insurance to all active permanent, full-time employees.
The City contributes 14% monthly toward retirement benefits offered through the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS).
You have the option to enroll in a voluntary retirement savings plan, such as a 457(b) deferred compensation plan or Roth IRA.
New full-time employees receive 80 hours of vacation upon hire.
All employees accrue sick leave at the rate of 0.0575 hours per hour, or approximately 15 days per year.
After six months of service, you receive two personal days, or 16 hours, per year.
The City observes 13 holidays per year.
You have 24/7 access to a fitness center located in City Hall.
Experience Pay will start after 5 years of service, which grants additional compensation to employees who have completed five or more years of total service with the City.
All permanent full-time employees are eligible to participate in the City's Tuition Reimbursement plan, provided they have at least one year of continuous service with the City and it is subject to policy terms and conditions.
