Senior Space Suit Program Support Technician

KBR is a company of innovators and explorers, seeking a Technician to support their Space Suit Assembly, Integration, and Test team in the Science and Space division. The Senior Space Suit Program Support Technician will be responsible for testing and maintenance of hardware, including Space Suits and ancillary equipment, while assisting Engineering in various activities related to space suit operations.

Responsibilities

Maintenance, assembly, testing, repair, and processing of flight and training hardware
Incorporates engineering changes and performs functional performance testing of space suit components or related hardware, associated Extravehicular Activity (EVA) hardware, and other systems of hardware as assigned
Provide assistance to engineering in the location and diagnosis of anomalies and recommend corrective action
Daily tasks associated with reading engineering drawings/schematics, equipment specifications, test procedures etc
Specified training online, and in classroom, as required to maintain certifications to perform job functions
Daily updates to various job-related database(s)
Transportation responsibilities to operate motor vehicle for delivery of hardware to various events
Train and mentor less experienced technicians

Required

This position requires U.S. Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information
Must have excellent mechanical skills and be able to read, comprehend, and execute detailed technical processing procedures, engineering drawings, and Work Authorizing Document directions
Excellent oral and written communications; must be able to read and interpret Work Authorizing Documents (WADs) and mechanical design drawings
Capacity to work in a team environment
Candidate must have a valid Texas driver's license and maintain a good driving record and be able to operate a government vehicle
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED
Years of Experience: 10+ years of related experience

Preferred

Associates Degree plus applicable years directly related Technical Degree or Military Technical School (skilled craft level five) or the equivalent of High School Graduate plus applicable years of directly related work experience
Experience with Pressure Systems or familiar with Pressurized Test Equipment
