Cardiac Monitor Technician - Part Time - Rotating shifts

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking an experienced Cardiac Monitor Technician to join Saint Francis Hospital. The role involves constant observation of cardiac monitors, prompt notification of any rhythm changes to nursing staff, and interpretation and documentation of rhythm strips.

Responsibilities

Monitors central station monitors

Demonstrates ability to operate monitoring equipment

Demonstrates ability to trouble shoot equipment including faulty leads and battery function

Initiates and discontinues telemetry on admission, transfer and discharge of patient

Measures and documents per unit protocol

Interprets the monitored rhythm

Notifies the nursing staff of any rhythm disturbance or changes in patient rhythm

Prints strips with changes in patient’s rhythm

Reviews alarm history per unit protocol

Appropriately posts patients off the unit

Cleans wires and telepacks

Monitors telemetry supplies and equipment

Responds appropriately to emergency situations

Performs EKG’s

Attends Annual Skills Fair

Successful completion of Monitor Technician Class preferred

Previous Monitor Tech experience preferred
