Truck Field Service Technician - HOLT Truck Centers

HOLT Truck Centers is seeking an experienced On-Highway Truck Field Service Technician. The Technician will provide exceptional customer service while inspecting, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining on-highway trucks and commercial trailers.

Responsibilities

Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
Troubleshoots, diagnosis, and repairs On-Highway trucks both Cat and OEM
Performs engine and related equipment repairs on Trucks and Trailers
Disassembles inspects, determines parts required, and reassembles to factory specifications within TRGs
Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
Provides quality control/assurance inspections of completed tasks to include road testing
Uses computers and related software to assist in diagnosing and reprograming engines
Completes documentation for service reports, timecards, parts requisition, and returns
Maintains all company equipment, tools, and vehicles in a good, clean, and working order
Interprets and utilizes information from operating, maintenance, online resources, and service manuals/bulletins
Operates equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates
Travels to and from the job site and travels to retrieve parts
Listens and understands customer complaints, quotes and explains repair costs, and schedules appointments with customers while providing clear communications
Orders parts needed to complete repairs
Completes and files documentation necessary to justify billing
Responds to customer needs after hours when needed
Communicate job progress to supervisor and customer as needed
Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
Maintains a P Factor of 100% or greater
Maintains less than .5% rework for years of total sales
Projects professionalism with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance
Acts as a mentor and coach to lower-level Technicians
Completes all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Must pass a DOT Physical
Must have a safe driving record
Must have and maintain a CDL Class A License
Knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Knowledge and proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and On-Highway Truck electronic systems diagnostic tooling
Knowledge and ability to explain how various systems function on trucks and trailers
Operation and control skills of On-Highway Trucks & Trailers
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Verbal communication skills
Exceptional skills in customer service
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to follow logical troubleshooting procedures
Ability to learn and navigate various software for both CAT and OEM
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to be self-starting and motivated
Ability to operate a conventional forklift
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair and overhead crane
Ability to operate an On-Highway Truck on public roads
Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands in order to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
Ability to read, write, and understand information
Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
High school diploma or equivalent, accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program required
Minimum of three years of experience required
CDL – Class A or B required
Has met HDSI requirements for Service Field Tech 1; Ability to complete HOLT's VBL Classes, model HOLT's VBL Culture, and successfully apply the tools
On-going Safety Training required
Must own and maintain the necessary tools to efficiently perform the job
Must maintain a DOT Medical Certification
Must have a clean driving record
