The Emergency Care Technician II assists nurses, physicians, and mid-level practitioners in the safe delivery of patient care and coordinates with other departments to maintain a clean and well-stocked Emergency Department.

Assists nurses, physicians, and mid-level practitioners in the safe delivery of patient care
Assists in coordination of patient care with other departments
Assists in the maintenance of a well-stocked, no expired supplies/equipment, and clean Emergency Department

Qualification

Emergency Care Technician experienceBasic Life Support certificationFlorida EMT licensurePatient care assistanceCoordination with departments

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years of age
Passed monitor examination within six (6) months post-hire
Six (6) months of Emergency Care Technician I (JC: 770105) experience (or equivalent) in an emergency department setting
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred

Licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXIX (Public Health), Chapter 401 (Medical Telecommunications and Transportation), Part III (Medical Transportation Services)
