Responsibilities

Handle enforcement actions referred by state agencies

Engage in outreach to community members regarding potential violations of environmental laws

Build and prosecute cases against environmental polluters

Investigate complaints and work with other state agencies

Draft pleadings and respond to motions

Manage mediations and settlements

Represent the interests of the People of the State of Illinois in court
