Electrodiagnostic Technician II

Amery Hospital & Clinic is looking for an Electrodiagnostic Technician II to join their Neurology team. The role involves performing various neurological tests on adult patients and maintaining equipment, while also participating in call coverage every three weeks.

Responsibilities

Regularly performs one or more of the following neurological tests on adult patients (as ordered by a physician): Inpatient and outpatient routine EEGs, Ambulatory EEGs, Continuous video EEG monitoring, Inpatient and outpatient EMGs
Monitor patients on the floor between Epilepsy surgeries
Set up and assist with cortical STIM studies
Set-up and monitor patients during WADA procedures
Responsible for obtaining standard, as well as advanced nerve conduction recordings in the laboratory setting under the direction of an electrodiagnostic medicine consultant
Responsible for checking and maintaining the instruments they use and keep them in excellent working condition
Continues education, researches new techniques, and will instruct junior personnel
Maintaining files and records relevant to departmental activities, cleaning and maintaining all equipment and keeping it in excellent working condition and troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise
Participate equitably in the call rotation for EEGs for greater than 50% of their FTE

Qualification

TestingCertification in END programAAET/ABRET registrationClinical skillsHuman relations skillsComputer proficiency

Required

Certification/graduate of accredited END program accredited by the Committee of Allied Health Education
Required registration by AAET and/or ABRET in at least one type of neurological test. This must be obtained within one year of employment date
Strong clinical and human relations skills
Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Personal Computer, Telephone, Fax Machine, Photocopier, Printer, all versions of the EEG testing machines and collection devices, along with supporting equipment

Preferred

An associate degree from an accredited college is preferred
